What is professional photography studio space?
A place to unleash your creativity!
If you are a professional photographer, having the right space to shoot photos is essential. But it’s expensive to rent and maintain your own studio.
That’s why MI Studio Space allows you to rent theirs at very affordable, hourly rates!

What is included in photo studio rental?
Everything you need is right here!
When you rent photo studio time at MI Studio Space in Wayland, MI, you get access to all of the amenities in each of our rooms.
That includes all of the furniture, sets, backdrops, props and more.
How do I rent photo studio space?
It’s easy… just become a member and you’re in!
To ensure that our space remains in tip-top professional use, we require studio renters to sign a membership agreement before they book time at MI Studio Space.
We ask that you take an in-person tour of the studio first so you can see everything firsthand and get a feel for what’s included.
Signing a membership agreement is free! Once we have your signature, you’ll get access to our online booking system and more.
What are the studio rental timeframes?
Time is of the essence…
You can book time at MI Studio Space by the hour! We require a minimum of 1 hour per studio room. After that, you can book in 15 minute increments for full flexibility.
Plus, you automatically get a free 15 minute window at the end so there’s time to clean up, load up and go on with your day without being rushed.
When is studio space available?
24/7 (mostly)…
MI Studio Space is open 24/7 and members get keyless entry for maximum efficiency and minimum headaches.
So, unless a space is already booked by another photographer, or we’re hosting an event or workshop, there are no limits to when you can schedule your shoots!
The studio spaces have great natural light for daytime, and get nice and dark for those mysterious nighttime shoots.
How much does it cost?
That depends on what you want to do…
Our rates range from $25 – $200 per hour, depending on which rooms you want to use and when.
When you take a tour and chat with the owner, we’ll give you all the details.

ABOUT THE STUDIO
How much studio space is available?
2 Large studio spaces and a big powder room make up MI Studio Space.
Inside the studio, you’ll find 3 private spaces for use by members.
The Main Studio features over a dozen sets, a full kitchen, functional bathtub, backdrops and props galore.
Our XoXo Boudoir Studio includes a queen-size bed, chaise lounges, an antique vanity and more.
A Powder Room is available for rent with either of the main rooms to get ready for a shoot or change outfits, or rent it separately to primp and polish for any event.
Where are you located?
Quaint, historic downtown Wayland, MI is where you’ll find us.
About 30 minutes South of Grand Rapids, MI and about 30 minutes north of Kalamazoo, Wayland is a small town with tons of charm and character!
It’s quiet and quaint, with cute shops and cafes, restaurants and more that feature vintage-style architecture, lots of green space and even some creative art installations that let you take your photoshoot outside too.

What kinds of sets and décor do you have?
Gorgeous, versatile furnishings…
At MI Studio Space, we have spent countless hours finding amazing furniture, props, backdrops and so much more!
From soft textiles to rich colors, unique trinkets and treasures to bold statement pieces, no matter your style, you’re sure to find the perfect accents to your photo creations.
Each room has its own sets, with all furniture on slider pads so it’s easy to move around and try with the various styled backdrops. The Main Room features a wall of colored curtains you can slide in-and-out, and the Boudoir room has pull-down paper backdrops. There are foliage walls, a gold-frame corner, vintage-inspired wallpaper, flowing window drapes and so many options to create the perfect setting for your shoot.
And we’re constantly changing things up too! Since we love shopping and finding new treasures, pieces are rotated in-and-out of the spaces regularly to keep everything fresh and creative.
We welcome you to move things around and create uniquely amazing looks, but please put things back where you found them.
Can I see some photos that have been taken there?
Absolutely!

Can I use the kitchen?
Absolutely!
When you rent the Main Studio, you get the full kitchen too. It has a large refrigerator, new range and oven, a microwave, modern sink and lots of counter space.
Whether you want to have snacks on hand for a shoot, or use the entire kitchen to record your newest recipe for TikTok, MI Studio Space has you covered!
Just clean everything up when you’re done so the next person can start fresh.
Do you have a bathtub?
Yes!
Our Main Studio Room has a gorgeous new white bathtub for photoshoots. It’s fully functional, so you can fill it with water, add milk, flowers or other pretty floaty accents and shoot ’til your heart’s content!
The tub is in a well-lit corner so it’s easy to get almost any angle, and there are screens and other props to make it look intimate and cozy.
We just ask that you clean up after your shoot and make sure no water is left on our hardwood floors.
Is the space accessible?
Unfortunately not right now 🙁
But we are working to make it more accessible!
Currently, there is a staircase leading from the main floor up to the studio on the second floor.

BECOMING A MEMBER
Do I have to be a member to use the studio?
Yes, you need to sign a membership agreement to book studio time.
We want to ensure that only qualified professionals have access to the space. This helps us to guarantee it will be in tip-top shape for our members and that every person who utilizes the space knows their stuff and understands the expectations.
Plus, we want to get to know you so we can make sure the studio delivers what you need.
How do I become a member?
It’s easy… and free!
Simply join us on an in-person tour of the studio, sign a membership agreement and you’re in!
Then, you’ll be able to book studio time online and get all of the perks.
What kind of perks do members get?
We’re just getting started…
While members currently get perks like easy online, self-serve booking and easy keyless entry, plus early access to workshops and special offers, we’ve got some great stuff in the works too!

How do I take a tour?
Just jump in!
We have set several upcoming, ‘open house’ style tours that you can register for. The owner, Mina, will be at the studio during those times and you can just stop by and see each of the rooms, ask questions and sign a membership agreement so you can start booking online.

Free content days are hosted regularly by the owner, where you can come in and use the space to create content for your own social media, collaborate with other photographers or content creators, network with your peers and more.
