Please read these terms and services carefully before attending any events or workshops.
By attending an event, workshop or other gathering at MI Studio, you agree to follow all rules and regulations. Failure to comply with these rules may result in expulsion from the event without refund.
General Event Information:
- Michigan Studio Space, LLC reserves the right to refuse entry to any person or remove any person from the premises for any reason, including but not limited to: disruptive behavior, intoxication, violation of any Terms & Conditions or violations of any Host’s communication or rules without the return of any monies paid for ticket or workshop.
- All attendees must present a valid ticket or proof of registration to enter the event as well a proof of age requirements where applicable. Refunds will not be provided for any reason.
- By attending, you consent to being photographed or recorded for promotional purposes. Notice of surveillance thought the building.
- Please tag and share the amazing things you create and use the space for. We will re-share and engage as much as possible as well :).
- Michigan Studio Space, LLC is not liable for acts out of its control that affects the ability of the studio to host an event, such as event canceled due to low enrollment, Instructor illness, building equipment failures, power outages, weather, emergencies, or other “Acts of God”. In such cases, Michigan Studio Space, LLC will offer alternative credit to future workshops/events and in some cases a refund will be considered.
Studio Rules & Guidelines
- If Renting- The Renter listed on the booking MUST be present during the entire studio rental date/time. Renter must be at least 18 years old at the time of booking.
- Respect the space as if it were personally yours.
- When finished: close/lock any doors that have locks behind you and turn off all lights. Leave the Main Room → Stairway doors open.
- No illegal drugs or smoking are allowed in or around the studio.
- Do NOT use anything that creates fog or smoke, including (but not limited to) smoke bombs, photo fog cans, fog machines, or sparklers.
- Shoes must be worn (wood floors may have splinters).
However, please keep shoes off photography paper and furniture (especially white couches and the bed). A cleaning fee may be charged if needed. - Children must be supervised at all times and kept within arm’s length. The studio contains many items that must be handled with care.
- Pets are allowed in the studio. Pets must be kept within arm’s reach and under control at all times (leashed when appropriate).
Renter/Client is responsible for ensuring any pet brought into the building is safe, well-behaved, and appropriate to pass through shared/public areas (including the restaurant). Back entry is preferred when bringing pets in/out, when available.
Any pet-related accidents, damage, excessive shedding, or additional cleaning needed will be the Renter’s responsibility and may result in a cleaning/damage fee. - To help keep the studio thriving (and support word-of-mouth), please tag and share what you create. We will re-share and engage as much as possible, too. 🙂
- The temperature is auto-controlled, but you may adjust it using the thermostat in the space provided.
- Handle the space, furniture, props, setups, and all studio items with care. If any damage occurs to the space or items, Renter may be charged for broken, missing, or stolen items, as well as damage/cleaning fees. Certain violations may result in immediate termination of the rental.
- If you notice something broken or missing, notify Emina Delic.
If something is broken during your rental by you or your client, informing Emina Delic is REQUIRED. - You may move/adjust items between the rooms you rented during your time. All items must be returned to their designated spot and to the room they belong in.
Do NOT mix rooms/furniture without returning everything. Each room has specific furniture intended for that room. - Items provided for your personal accommodations are property of the studio. You may help yourself to what’s available in the fridge, the getting ready room, and toiletries provided. Please use only what you need and leave the rest for the next renter (including items like the hair dryer, straightener, and toiletries).
If the hair dryer, straightener, or other studio items are removed—or an inordinate amount of toiletries are used/removed—Renter is responsible for the actual replacement cost, at the discretion of Studio. - If you use the last of something, please text the Studio Manager so we can replenish it.
- We are in a Social District- Social District beverages are allowed. Studio does not supply alcoholic beverages and does not have a liquor license. Renter agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Studio (pursuant to the same terms in the indemnification paragraph below) from any harm, damages, claims, injury, incidents, or claims resulting from the use of alcoholic beverages by Renter or their assigns, invitees, agents, clients, customers, employees, vendors, or anyone associated with Renter. Renter further agrees that any consumption of alcoholic beverages must follow all Michigan laws regarding sale, distribution, age, and consumption.
- Do not use any space you did not specifically rent, even if it is left unlocked.
- During early setup stages and ongoing “phase” openings, some areas may still be under construction or pending setup and are OFF LIMITS. These areas will be marked. Any damage caused by Renter from using off-limits areas will be charged to Renter as actual repair or replacement costs, at the discretion of Studio.
- Until a private studio entrance is established, Renters will be instructed to use the front door of the building with the provided pin code to enter. PASS THROUGH THIS SPACE ONLY.
(Exception: You may use the restroom in this space if renting the Powder Room and the Base Room rental is occupied.) - Pornographic content is NOT allowed to be photographed or recorded in the studio. The Studio understands boudoir sessions are part of the rental space and artistic freedom is allowed for those sessions. However, Studio reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine whether pornographic material has been recorded or photographed and to terminate this agreement with Renter.
No person under 18 years old may be part of any boudoir (or similar) session under any circumstances. - Tub Use Rules (fillable tub):
- It is an honor and privilege to provide a fillable tub in an old building—please use caution and follow these rules.
- Do NOT overfill the tub. Be mindful of the old wood floors.
- If you spill, fully dry the floors immediately. Towels are available in the studio bathroom if needed (not recommended for drying off a person).
- If doing a milk bath with flowers or other small items, scoop up all particles before draining the tub (please look for a scoop in the kitchen).
- Wait for all water to drain, then wipe up anything left behind.
- The tub may be slippery—use caution.
- Personal & Abandoned Property: Michigan Studio Space LLC and its members, owners, officers, employees, agents, or other representatives assume no responsibility for any property placed in the facility or on the premises, or for any property left on the premises after the event is over.
Accessibility Information:
- Until a private studio entrance to the space is established, Event Attendees will be instructed to use the front door of the building. PASS THROUGH THIS SPACE and right up the stairs.
- Please understand that some areas are still under construction or pending set up and ARE OFF LIMITS. Those areas will be marked and any damage caused by attendee in use of those off limits spaces shall be charged to Renter in the form of actual repair or replacement costs at the discretion of Studio.
- Our space is situated on the second floor, and we regretfully do not have an elevator available. We recognize this might pose difficulties for some attendees, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. We understand our offerings may not suit everyone. However, if you need any assistance or accommodations that are within our capability, please reach out to us in advance, and we will endeavor to help in any way we can.
For Ticket Purchasing Models/ Photographers / Creatives for workshops/events held at MI Studio Space.
No sexual conduct/ pornographic content shall be photographed or recorded at MI STUIO SPACE. Creators will work within artistic freedom and expression within these sessions/events/workshops. Any content created at MI Studio Space can can be seen as Obscene will not be allowed. However, Owner of MI Studio Space, LLC reserves, in her sole discretion, to determine the definition of pornographic material and will not condone the recording of photograph/ video or such material. Owner is mostly okay with implied material but NEVER a sexual act. Any attempt to force or harass any event goers to photograph scenes despite refusal shall result in the ending of said event without any refund or any final images/ product delivered regardless of the time length of the session to that point or purchased tickets.
752.364 “Sexual conduct” defined.
Sec. 4.
(1) “Sexual conduct” means 1 or more of the following:
(a) Representations or descriptions of ultimate sexual acts, normal or perverted, actual or simulated.
(b) Representations or descriptions of masturbation, excretory functions, or a lewd exhibition of the genitals.
(2) “Simulated” means the explicit depiction or description of any of the types of conduct set forth in the definition of sexual conduct under subsection (1), which creates the appearance of such conduct.
(3) “Ultimate sexual acts” means sexual intercourse, fellatio, cunnilingus, anal intercourse, or any other intrusion, however slight, of any part of a person’s body or of any object into the genital or anal openings of another person’s body, or depictions or descriptions of sexual bestiality, sadomasochism, masturbation, or excretory functions.
752.362 Definitions; C to O.
(5) “Obscene” means any material that meets all of the following criteria:
(a) The average individual, applying contemporary community standards, would find the material, taken as a whole, appeals to the prurient interest.
(b) The reasonable person would find the material, taken as a whole, lacks serious literary, artistic, political, or scientific value.
(c) The material depicts or describes sexual conduct in a patently offensive way.
Any attempt to harass, solicit, or compel photographer/model/creative or others attending events sexually shall result in the ending of said session/event/workshop without any refund or any final image/s product delivered regardless of the time length of the session/event/workshop and will be told to leave.
Event Participation
At MI Studio Space, LLC, we’re excited to host and collaborate on a variety of events designed for our vibrant community. While we put our heart and soul into each event, it’s important to remember that the magic of creativity can be unpredictable!
Event Accountability: We strive to ensure that each event aligns with its description. However, remember that in the world of art and photography, surprises are part of the journey!
No Guarantee on Outcomes: We’re all about providing a platform for learning, networking, and creative exploration. But as much as we’d love to, we can’t guarantee the specific outcomes of any event. Think of it as an adventure – you never know what amazing shots or ideas you’ll come away with!
Our Commitment: Rest assured, we are committed to holding our hosts and collaborators to high standards, ensuring they stay true to their event descriptions. Our goal is to create memorable and enriching experiences for all.
By participating in our events, you’re joining a dynamic, ever-evolving space of creativity. Embrace the unexpected, and let’s create some magic together!
Collaboration Etiquette
Photographers/ Videographers/ Artists/ Vendors/ Content creators or other persons are required to share at least 5 photos/ videos/ or content with the individuals they collaborate or work with during our events. Photographers that participate in events/workshops/or content creating session are strongly encouraged to share all images that are/or will be used/ created for promotion or display of any kind with the model or collaborating counterpart. These events are made for collaboration and are NOT people to sell your content to. It is discouraged to sell content to others that attend various content creator events or workshops. Apply to host or run your own event to set your own terms and make money on content creation. Anyone thats reported for violating these guidelines, especially when using predatory sales tactics will be banned from future events.
Model understands and agrees that ALL images produced from this session/workshop/event can be shared freely on any platforms by all creators. The studio will specify if any events listed on our website are featured photographer events. This is where models have a buy-in and featured photographer creates content/ photos / videos or any visuals that could be purchased after the event. The event description will address who the photographer is and what they will be creating during the event and what will be available for purchase after the event. This information will be provided in the event description AND before the registration process. Models agree that they will not edit/change or alter files/photos that any photographers share with model. Everyone will follow all laws in regards to intellectual property rights. Be sure to find out intellectual property owner sharing/tagging and distribution preferences before any content is used.
All creatives involved in event/workshop/session when intellectual property is used, agree to credit each creative involved per creators preference. Use aliases or business information when applicable.

Off-Site Pool Event Terms (Nana’s Pool):
Select events may take place at a private residence in Grand Rapids with an outdoor heated pool (maintained around 80°F). All participants assume full responsibility for their safety and actions while on the property. There is no lifeguard on duty—swim at your own risk. Restroom access is available indoors and must be left clean and undamaged. No glass containers are permitted in or near the pool area under any circumstances. Music must remain at a respectful volume at all times. Tampering with pool equipment or liner weights (including the visible pennies) is strictly prohibited. Guests must stay off landscaping, flower beds, and retaining walls. Boudoir content may be permitted with prior approval, but nudity is strictly prohibited unless explicitly authorized in writing. Only registered guests may attend—no additional visitors, children, or pets are allowed. By attending, you agree to these terms and release the host, property owner, and event organizer from any liability related to injury, loss, or damage.
Proof Of Age
For any events that state Boudoir or any form of nudity or adult content a Photo ID will be required with ticket purchase. Be sure to bring your ID to the event as well. With a purchase of a ticket to an event that is for adults only, you verify that you are at least 19 years of age AND graduated/ are not of High School Grade Age.
A copy of Driver’s License, State ID or other proof of age identification is required.
Indemnification
Event Attendees hereby agrees to hold harmless and defendant and indemnify Studio from any damage caused to the property or persons that are assigns, invitees, agents, clients, customers, vendors, employees, or have a relationship to Renter of any kind that are with Renter during Renters studio time. Upon expiration of the booking time, Renter has no legal right to use or occupy the space and Renter and their assigns, invitees, agents, clients, customers, vendors, employees, or persons who have a relationship to Renter of any kind shall be considered as trespassing. Should any legal action occur based on injury or damage to Renter or their assigns, invitees, agents, clients, customers, vendors, employees, or persons who have a relationship to Renter of any kind, Renter agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Studio from any losses, costs, liabilities, claims, damages, and expenses of every kind as incurred as a result of Renter’s use of the Studio. Renter also agrees that they will carry liability insurance for themselves or their business to provide and assist with the coverage in this section.
Waiver of Liability
Use of Studio space and any accompanying parking or amenities and equipment is at Renter’s risk. Renter hereby agrees that Company will not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damage, injury or loss to Renter, their assigns, invitees, agents, clients, customers, vendors, employees, or persons who have a relationship to Renter of any kind or their respective possessions while using the Studio or any amenities. Studio recommends that renter carries own liability insurance.
Act of God
Michigan Studio Space, LLC is not liable for acts out of its control that affects the event attendees ability to use the space, such as building equipment failures, power outages, severe weather, emergencies, or other “Acts of God”. In such cases, Michigan Studio Space, LLC will offer a reschedule, if a reschedule is not available the studio could offer a full refund for the date/time reserved during the incident. This will be evaluated per incident. A REFUND IS NOT GUARANTEED.
Severability
The invalidity or un-enforceability of any particular provision of this contract shall not affect the other provisions, and this contract shall be construed in all respects as if such invalid or unenforceable provisions were omitted.
Entire Agreement
This constitutes the entire agreement of the parties and may not be amended or modified without written agreement of the parties.
